The Anti Fungal Medication Desenex

Desenex is an antifungal medication which prevents fungus from growing on your skin.
It is most common used to treat skin infections such as athlete's foot, jock itch, ringworm, tinea versicolor and yeast infections. The generic name for Desenex is miconazole topical.

It is very important that Desenex be used exactly as directed by your doctor. You should also follow the directions that accompany the package. Before applying Desenex, it is recommended that your hands be washed. Hands should also be washed again after using the medication. The affected area is to be cleaned and dried before applying the cream/lotion/spray/powder. The medication is usually used once or twice daily, again follow your doctor's advise. The length of time to use Desenex is usually between 2 to 4 weeks.

Another important reminder about using Desenex is that you have to use the medicatoin for the full amount of time prescribed by your doctor or as recommended in the package even if you begin to feel better. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely healed. However, if the infection does not clear up in 2 weeks (or 4 weeks for athlete's foot), or if it appears to get worse, you should see your doctor right away. Remember to allow air circulation over the affected area, therefore, it is snot recommended that you use bandages or dressings.
